Launched in May 2018, the MaritimeMT brand builds on the work and experience of the Mediterranean Maritime Research and Training Centre (MMRTC), which was established in July 2010 as the training arm of the full shareholder, the Malta Maritime Pilots Co-operative Society (MMP).

MMRTC is a Co-operative and since it’s inception it is a DNV Certified facility, with full accreditation as a Maritime Training Centre from Transport Malta.

Today, operating under the brand name of MaritimeMT, the Centre is a one-stop-shop for training, education, information, research and ancillary services for seafarers and shore-based personnel.

The in-house holistic maritime curriculum that is constantly under review and development, continues to strengthen the Training Centre’s position as a hub that caters for the needs not only of the Malta Maritime Sector but also of the International Maritime Community. This is done through the provision of STCW Training & certification; Ship Handling & Maneuvering courses; Commercial Vessels accredited training, Super Yacht courses for Deck, Engineering and Hospitality, Recreational Licenses and any other bespoke training whether for seafarers or for shore-based personnel.
