NAS focuses on three distinct specialist areas: Marine design, survey and consultancy.

Marine Design: The company provides design and engineering services in line with International standards, European Union Directives and IACS classification society rules and regulations for newbuilds, existing vessels and refits ranging from small craft and superyachts to oil tanker and passenger ship conversions. Services in this area range from the production of working drawings for class approval and yard use (including process engineering, material take-off and weld procedures) to structural analysis using Finite Element Method and CFD modelling.

 Survey: Trusted by leading management companies, credit institutions, underwriters, owners and crew, NAS offers an array of survey and certification services to the shipping and yachting industry. The common denominator being trust and integrity. Furthermore, NAS surveyors hold appointments as authorised surveyors from various flags, principally Malta and Panama, which are respectively the European Union’s and the World’s largest ship registries by Gross Tonnage and both of which hold ‘white flag’ status. NAS surveyors are authorised to act on behalf of these Administrations and to issue certification to yachts and ships in accordance with the applicable National and International Instruments.

 

Consultancy: The technical background and know-how held within NAS is frequently translated in various types of specialist consultancy to owners ranging from inclining tests and lightship surveys, preparation of intact and damage stability booklets, Loading Manuals, lifting calculations etc. The company also provides assistance with the preparation of technical specification documents and project specific management consultancy.
