On the invitation of Capt Jesmond Mifsud and MaritimeMT, the MMF Board was invited to a launch of a new course, the STCW Officer of the Watch unlimited.  The event was also attended by the new minister responsible for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects, Hon Aaron Farrugia and the Chairman & CEO of Transport Malta.

At the event, the MMF congratulated MaritimeMT on this important milestone. In fact, it is being regarded as an important breakthrough in the industry especially because it will provide training cadets the full route deck and will now be the first private institution on the island to offer this. It is a big step forward for the industry and an added attraction for foreign students to come and further their maritime studies in Malta.

In fact, at this same event MaritimeMT signed a strategic alliance with Greek Partners – City Unity College – to offer the same course through the Malta facilities.  Through this partnership, MaritimeMT has become the first maritime school to offer such important licence overseas.
